Our Mission PDF Print E-mail

(Matthew 28:19-20) Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: {20} Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

There is no greater work in the world than in soul-winning. It was the Great Commission given to the apostles so that the spread of the gospel would continue throughout future generations until the Lord comes again.

Churches today are involved in many things. Some are consumed in providing entertainment;mark_seesand_son.jpg some churches try to provide comfort and social support. Others focus on helping the poor with benevolence. Some denominations make it their mission to take on social justice issues. All the while the most important thing the church is to be doing is left undone.

There is only one thing that will save us from an eternal death: the gospel. In fact it is the "power of God unto salvation" (Romans 1:16). Therefore it is our mission to tell the good news of the salvation of Christ. Just as Jesus came to "seek and save the lost" (Luke 19:10), the focus of His people must be on the eternal destiny of the souls of those around us.

Though our congregation is involved in many different types of good works, our goal is to insure that whatever we do supports our mission--to fulfill the Great Commission. We do this through evangelistic lessons from the pulpit and Bible classes, personal Bible studies, invitations to friends, family and strangers to come and worship with us. Of course we are involved in supporting several missionaries around the world.

If we spread the good news, then we know that many will know the eternal joy of redemption and that God will be glorified in His church.
